About Us

At Biomat’X, we are interested in developing innovative molecular and cell therapy platforms for their applications in nanomedicine and regenerative medicine using both top-down and bottom-up approaches. To this end; we work on four interrelated research pillars which include:

  • Nanostructured and engineered biointerfaces for molecular therapy, immunoengineering and as biorecognition systems

  • Biomaterials and 3D tissue constructs for cell therapy and tissue engineering

  • Nanoplexes for targeted delivery of biologically active molecules as well as for their use as imaging tools

  • High-throughput synthesis, formulation and sorting of multifunctional nano/microsystems using microfluidics and lab-on-a-chip devices

This research aims at addressing some unmet needs in the treatment of bone loss by promoting biomineralization, of cardiovascular diseases with an emphasis on atherosclerosis, of cancers, particularly melanoma and of type 1 diabetes as well as devising out-of-the-box solutions for many protocols and procedures in biomedical research through miniaturization.
